Animal-Assisted therapy is a therapeutic intervention that incorporates our girls, Shekinah & Zoey, into your treatment plan.
They work together in therapeutic activities that are outlined with clear goals for change, measurable objectives, and the expectation of identifiable progress.
Mental Health
Smiles and conversation may be a major step in the battle against depression, may aid to increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety and loneliness.
Stress Relief
Interacting with a well-behaved and well-trained therapy animal has been clinically proven to release calm endorphins in the brain, which causes an automatic relaxation response. This is believed to even reduce the amount of medication that some people need to withstand physical pain.
Motor Skills
Use a leash to maneuver walking the dogs, reaching to the girls, or bending to pet, pat, stroke, or brush Shekinah and/or Zoey all increase gross motor skills.
Onsite appointments are held in North Georgia, however, Shekinah & Zoey also travel and may be available to come to your location.
